Modern High School holds folk dance contest

Pune: PES Modern High School (English Medium), Shivajinagar, organised an Inter-School Folk Dance competition as part of its 25th-year celebrations. 

The event was held on Saturday at PE Society’s Auditorium in Shivajinagar, in which 18 schools from Pune participated. 

Students of Rishigurukulam School won the competition and were awarded a cash prize of Rs 3,000. Vikhe Patil School emerged first runner-up with a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 2,000 and PES Modern High School (English medium) and Mar Ivanious school shared the third place with a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 1,000. 

The consolation prize was bagged by Dyanprabodhini School. The programme began with Ganesh Vandana. Jydnasa Aher and Jatin Pandey were the judges in the programme. 

Variety of dances forms like Haryanvi, Rajasthan ghoomar, Karkatam etc. were performed. 

It was held under the guidance of Chairman GR Ekbote, Prof Jyotsna Ekbote, Chairperson of the school, Prof SS Deshmukh (Sec), Prof PG Dixit (Dy Sec of PE Society), and Principal Madhuree Shah.
